years. Let us throw a look on Ancient Greece, the secrets that
will be uncovered.
History:
Numerous civilizations have
contributed to the Greece that we see today. The civilizations
which were believed to have existed are Pre- Hellenic
civilization and several others. Let’s take a look on some key
influences.
In the Middle Bronze Age (2000
BC) some tribes migrated into the Balkan Peninsula who became
what we know about them today as Greeks. Helladic is generally
the Bronze Age of the proto Greeks. The Mycenaean culture in
1150 BC collapsed and it led to massive depopulation. The
Dorians then entered. When the Bronze Age collapsed Greece
entered into the Dark Age.
The Greek Dark Ages was followed
by the archaic period. The 8th, 7th and 6th centuries represent
the Dark Ages of Greek history.
The 5th and 4th centuries
represent the Age of Classical Greece when Greece started
developing its culture slowly.
Hellenistic
Greece:
This period lasts from 323 BC to
the annexation of the Roman Public in 146 BC. This was soon
followed by the advent of Romans in Greece. It started the
period of Roman Greece.
Greek started spreading Colonies
to all parts of the world. Even today the remains of a theater
at Taornima in Italy are a great example.
Greek
Philosophy
Greek philosophy focused on
reason and enquiry. They have always had the quest for
knowledge and their philosophy is still searching the
civilizations of Babylonians and the ancient Egyptians.
Literature:
The literature of Ancient Greece
was limited because of the so many civilizations taking place.
Their ideas of thoughts were never really good as their
literature lost against the mightier countries.
Art:
Art in Greece was at its peak
during the period of Greece. The Apollo and Nike in marble was
a Roman copy of the Hellenistic period. It is a good example of
the Roman Art.
Religion and
Mythology:
Their mythology talks about gods
and heroes. The twelve main Greek gods are Zeus, his wife Hera,
Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, Artemis,
Demeter, and Hestia. The important deities are the Hebe,
Helios, Hades, Dionysus, Persephone and Heracles. So a lot of
